Every collection begins with a feeling.
This one began with a memory.

On a cold winter evening in Lahore, as I walked past an old bookstore, I saw a poem printed on a fading page. In its center was a single phrase written in Persian:

“Gul-E-Surkh” The Red Rose.

There was something magical about it.
A word that felt ancient, poetic, and powerful yet still soft, warm, alive.
It reminded me of everything Surkh stands for: depth, emotion, colour, and the beauty that thrives even in winter.

That single word became the seed of this collection.

Winter in our part of the world has a quiet romance cold winds, warm chai, shawls on shoulders, and that rare red rose blooming in the frost. I wanted to capture that feeling the way winter doesn’t dim beauty, it sharpens it.

And so Gul-E-Surkh was born.
